Basters choice is a kit containing multiple hand picked items that make grilling easier. This professional quality set is perfect when you need to baste your meal before, during, and after removing it from the grill.

Basting is a culinary technique for moistening the surface of roasting meat, poultry, or other foods with some liquid. When cooks baste food, they brush or drizzle a savory liquid on it as it’s cooking. When you baste your Thanksgiving turkey while it bakes, it will stay moist and tender. A chef might baste grilled vegetables with their marinade, or baste roasting meat with its own oily drippings.

To use any sauce, you can choose between a mop or a brush, but it all comes down to the type of meat. For thicker sauces, a brush is perfect, especially when used on smaller cuts of meat. Our kit contains items for whatever type of basting you choose to do. When food is almost done, our method is to pour the sauce into the pot, warm it on the grill, and paint the meat like Picasso.

We grill and based on our experiences have included in the basters choice the following products:

1) One quart, machine washable sauce pot
2) Slather Master Sauce Mop
3) 12 inch Beechwood Spoon
4) 12 inch Stainless Steel tongs
5) Basting Brush with 2 inch wide slanted head and 12 inch handle
6) Hand Towel (in case you spill)

The sauce pot and hand towel are machine washable. The mop, brush, and beechwood spoon should be hand washed due to the wooden handle.

Basting is a technique generally known to be used for turkey, pork, chicken, duck, and beef (including steak), but may be applied to virtually any type of meat. All our sauces can be used to baste food so we encourage you to look at them.
